THEMATIC POSTCARDSAntwerp my hometown, beautifull finds ! |

all cards are from 1894 and have undivided backs |
All these postcards were produced in 1893 for the Exhibition 1894 in Antwerp (my hometown). Lithographic, full color . Postcards before 1900 are of a magnificient quality and are rarely found.
The project on the right-corner-up for obvious reasons failed . The intenional plan was hanging a restaurant under a balloon ! Like the Eifeltower restaurant it would be available with 2 elevators. Would you go eating out there ? Also you can see a Zeppelin, which was intended to come and go from the Worldfair to the Central Station to get passengers and cary them over the city. The Worldfair was a big succes, but not all of the plans you see on the card were fullfilled. But the postcards were ready to go at the opening, with or without the planned attractions.
The postcard in the middle is the famous Captain Boyton's Watershow. He travelled around the world with his diving team, acrobats and show-dancing on water and ice, with various well known artists. You see the girls surfing down the ingenious waterfall
